My Story
My name is Mathieu Bosredon, I was born in Corrèze on the 23 November 1990. At the age of 4, I became paralyzed from the waist down due to a spinal cord hematoma, which also affected my abdominal muscles. Because I was so young, I adapted quickly to my disability. I first tried swimming, then began paracycling at the age of 14.
What started as a way to gain a sense of freedom and reconnect with my friends quickly turned into a passion. I threw myself fully into the discipline and competed in several national competitions. At 18, I joined the French National Team, and in 2014, I joined the professional team: Cofidis. At the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, I won 3 Paralympic gold medals, following that up with the World Championships in Zurich.

My Challenges and My Engagements

My First Ironman
So, what is an Ironman?
It’s three events in one race: 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling, and a marathon (42 km). In my case, the cycle was on my hand bike, and the marathon is in an athletics wheelchair.
In September 2022, I decided to take on this challenge. I went to Cervia, Italy, and despite my apprehension about the swimming leg, I started the race with determination and finished in under 11 hours, all while having a great time competing!
